Textured Art Workshops in Brisbane
For Complete Beginners
What you’ll do:
In a relaxed two-hour session, you’ll learn the skills and techniques to design and create two unique textured artworks you’ll be genuinely proud to say, “Yep, I made that!” and display at home.
If you can spread butter, you can do this!
Tipsy Textures workshops are relaxed, social and completely beginner-friendly. I’ll introduce you to textured art, show you how to use the tools and plaster, demonstrate different techniques, then let you loose to create two artworks that are completely your own.
You’ll have example pieces for inspiration and plenty of one-on-one help and encouragement from me along the way. There’s no copying the exact same painting and definitely no pressure to be “creative enough.”
Expect a few laughs, a little mess, plenty of encouragement and that very satisfying “Wait... I actually made that?!” moment.
You’ll leave with new textured art skills, two pieces you’ll be proud to show off, and a take-home PDF guide so you can keep creating long after the workshop ends.
No experience needed. Perfectionism not invited. Good times absolutely required.

Step-by-step guidance: a welcoming intro, design inspiration, and hands-on support the whole way through.
Two finished canvases to take home: real art you'll actually want on your wall.
A take-home PDF guide: so you can keep creating afterwards.

We require a minimum number of participants per class to run the workshop. In the unlikely event the session doesn’t reach this number, we will contact you via email with the option to reschedule or receive a refund/credit.
Doors open 5 minutes prior to the workshop.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-creditable within 72 hours of the event. However, they may be transferred to another guest if needed.
If you are late or miss your session (no-show), we are unable to refund or reschedule as materials and staffing are prepared in advance.

What is textured art?
Textured art (or plaster art) is a hands-on style of painting where you build up layers of plaster on a canvas to create beautiful, tactile designs. Think flowing landscapes, abstract waves, or soft organic shapes with real depth you can feel. It's one of the most beginner-friendly art forms there is, because it's forgiving, relaxing, and impossible to "get wrong." I guide you through every step, so even if you've never picked up a palette knife, you'll leave with two pieces you're genuinely proud of.
"But I'm not creative…"
You don't need to be — and that's the whole point. The most common thing I hear at the start of a workshop is "I'm not artistic" — and I never hear it at the end. Textured art is guided, forgiving, and genuinely relaxing. If you can spread butter on toast, you can do this.
